A stunning floriform vase in the classic flower-on-stem form that Tiffany Studios perfected over decades of production at their Corona glasshouse.

The cup of this vase opens like a bloom in full flower, the rim flares outward in an organic, ruffled edge finished in warm gold iridescence that catches light beautifully. The interior of the cup reveals a deep green center surrounded by pulled leaf-like forms in rich yellow-green, giving the impression of looking directly down into an opening blossom. The green deepens as it moves down the body, with elongated pulled leaf decorations that wrap the exterior of the cup in a naturalistic embrace.

The slender stem is a clear, luminous green with a subtle organic swell at its center, hand-pulled and shaped while molten, with the kind of graceful irregularity that only free-blown glass can achieve. It rises from a broad, circular foot finished in a warm amber-gold iridescence that anchors the entire composition.

At eleven inches tall, this is a commanding example of the form. The proportions are exceptional — the relationship between the wide, open cup and the delicate stem creates a sense of lightness and movement, as though the piece might sway in a breeze. The color palette moves seamlessly from the gold iridescent foot through the green stem and into the gold-edged cup, with no hard transitions, just the natural flow of color through glass.

The floriform was first developed at the Corona glasshouse by Tom Manderson, the first master blower to work under Tiffany. Rather than decorating glass with images of flowers, the glass itself becomes the flower. This vase is a perfect embodiment of that idea.

The "W" prefix in the production number dates this piece to 1905.
